Russo Brothers Want Millie Bobby Brown In ‘Avengers: Doomsday’

“Stranger Things” star Millie Bobby Brown is on the short casting list for “Avengers: Doomsday” and “Avengers: Secret Wars.” That’s according to Anthony and Joe Russo. The brothers responsible for a growing list of Marvel hits were asked by Entertainment Tonight about Brown being cast in an upcoming Marvel project, and the Russos agreed she’s “on the list” for every project they have.

“Millie is on the list for every project,” Joe Russo said. “You just can’t ask for a bigger star right now. And [she is] passionate about the work, passionate about promoting the movie, passionate about getting up every day and coming to set, making the crew feel good … Yeah, we will put her in anything.”

Anthony Russo added, “The exciting thing about Millie is that, even though she has done some wonderful work so far, she is young, and she has characters in her that audiences cannot even guess at yet.”

If the Russo brothers do decide to bring Millie Bobby Brown into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, she apparently won’t be the only “Stranger Things” alum. Along with David Harbour, who plays the Red Guardian in “Black Widow” and the upcoming “Thunderbolts,” recent reports put Sadie Sink as part of the cast of “Spider-Man 4.” Rumors go back and forth casting Sink either as Jean Grey of the X-Men or Mary Jane Watson.

As far as who Millie Bobby Brown might play in the MCU, the sky’s the limit, though considering fans are expecting the X-Men to be introduced in the not-too-distant future, someone from the heroes and villains associated with that franchise would seem appropriate. Many fans seem to think the hero Rogue would be a good fit.

Before Millie Bobby Brown can join the Marvel Cinematic Universe, she needs to contend with “The Electric State.” In the new sci-fi film, Brown plays Michelle Greene, a girl looking for her brother in a strange post-apocalyptic landscape filled with mechanical beings. Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, the film also stars Chris Pratt (“Guardians of the Galaxy”), Ke Huy Quan (“Everything Everywhere All at Once”), Stanley Tucci (“The Lovely Bones”), Giancarlo Esposito (“Breaking Bad”), Jason Alexander (“Seinfeld”), and a long list of high-profile voice talent.
