Scarlett Johansson explains no photos outside promo events rule that “really offends people”

Scarlett Johansson has revealed that her policy of never taking pictures with fans outside of promotional events has caused problems for her in everyday life.
Speaking to InStyle magazine, the star of the upcoming Jurassic World Rebirth said that she will only take pictures with fans at premieres or promotional appearances, such as appearing on The Today Show.
“It offends a lot of people,” she said. “It doesn’t mean I’m not appreciative, of course, that people are fans or happy to see me. But I always say to people, ‘I’m not working.’ I don’t want to be identified as being in this time and place with you. I’m doing my own thing.”
Elaborating on this, she said, “I like to be in my thoughts that have nothing to do with what other people think of me. I don’t like being self-conscious.” The Avengers actor also said she felt some connection with singer Chappell Roan, who announced a similar policy with fans last year.
